Terms of Service

This website is operated by South Yorkshire Engraving. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to South Yorkshire Engraving.

By visiting our website or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. About South Yorkshire Engraving

South Yorkshire Engraving is a UK-based personalised laser engraving business offering made-to-order engraved gifts, plaques, signs, memorial items and related products.

2. Products

All products are described as accurately as possible. Product photos are used to show the style, design and finish of the item. As many of our items are handmade, personalised or laser engraved, small variations in colour, grain, engraving shade, wood texture, slate finish or positioning may occur.

These natural variations are not faults and are part of the handmade and engraved nature of the products.

3. Made-to-Order Items

All items from South Yorkshire Engraving are made to order unless clearly stated otherwise.

Our usual dispatch time is 2–5 working days after payment has been received. This allows time for us to make, engrave, check and package your order.

Personalised or custom orders may require additional processing time, especially where a digital proof is required.

Dispatch times are estimates and may vary during busy periods, postal delays, courier delays, supplier delays or circumstances outside our control.

4. Personalisation Details

Customers are responsible for providing correct names, dates, wording, photos, spelling and any other personalisation details at the time of ordering.

Please check all personalisation carefully before placing your order.

We are not responsible for mistakes caused by incorrect information supplied by the customer. If you notice a mistake after ordering, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee changes once production has started.

5. Digital Proofs

For selected personalised products, a digital proof may be sent for verification before production.

If a digital proof is provided, production will not continue until the proof has been approved by the customer.

Once a proof has been approved, the customer accepts responsibility for the wording, layout and personalisation shown in the proof.

Delays in approving a proof may delay dispatch.

6. Orders and Payments

Orders are accepted through our website. Payment must be received in full before any item is made or dispatched.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or refund an order if there is an error with pricing, product information, stock availability, personalisation details, payment, or if the order appears fraudulent or abusive.

7. Prices

All prices are shown in GBP (£).

Prices may change at any time without notice. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been placed and paid for.

8. Delivery

Delivery is currently available within the United Kingdom only. International delivery is not currently available through the website.

Orders are sent using standard UK delivery services. Delivery times can vary depending on the courier or postal service used.

South Yorkshire Engraving is not responsible for delays caused by postal services, couriers, incorrect delivery addresses, severe weather, strikes, busy seasonal periods or other circumstances outside our control.

Please make sure your delivery address is correct before placing your order.

9. Failed or Incorrect Delivery

If an order is returned to us because the customer provided an incorrect address, failed to collect the parcel, or refused delivery, the customer may be responsible for any additional postage costs to resend the item.

10. Cancellations

Because most of our products are personalised, engraved or made to order, cancellations may not be possible once production has started.

If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. If production has not started, we may be able to cancel and refund the order.

If work has already started, materials have been cut, engraving has begun, or a personalised design has been produced, we may be unable to cancel the order.

11. Returns and Refunds

Most items from South Yorkshire Engraving are personalised, engraved or made to order.

Personalised or custom-made items cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive damaged, faulty, or we have made an error with the order.

Non-personalised items may be returned in line with your statutory rights, provided they are unused, in their original condition and returned within the required time period.

If you wish to request a return, please contact us first. Items must not be returned without contacting us.

12. Damaged or Faulty Items

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the item, packaging and damage.

We will review the issue and may offer a replacement, repair or refund where appropriate.

Damage must be reported promptly so we can investigate with the courier or postal service where needed.

13. Customer Errors

We cannot refund or replace personalised items where the customer has supplied incorrect spelling, names, dates, wording, photos, sizes or other details.

Please check all order information carefully before submitting your order.

14. Product Care

Our products should be handled with care. Wooden, slate and engraved products may be affected by moisture, heat, direct sunlight or rough handling.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, items are intended for indoor decorative use only.

15. Website Accuracy

We aim to keep all website information accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee that all product descriptions, prices, images, stock information or other content will be error-free at all times.

If we discover an error after an order has been placed, we will contact you where necessary and may offer a correction, replacement, cancellation or refund.

16. Intellectual Property

All designs, images, product photos, text, logos and content on this website belong to South Yorkshire Engraving or are used with permission.

You must not copy, reproduce, sell, distribute or use our designs, images or content without written permission.

17. Customer-Supplied Images and Text

If you provide photos, names, wording, logos or other content for personalisation, you confirm that you have the right to use that content.

You must not upload or provide anything illegal, offensive, abusive, copyrighted without permission, or that infringes another person’s rights.

We reserve the right to refuse any order containing unsuitable, offensive or unlawful content.

18. Limitation of Liability

South Yorkshire Engraving is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of business, or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

19. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. Please read our Privacy Policy for details about how customer information is collected, used and protected.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.

The Terms in place at the time you place your order will apply to that order.

21. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
